First of all, a happy and hearty Father’s Day to all you dads out there.
And all the best to all you mothers too.
And if you’re looking for some good, hearty pub grub, you could do at lot worse than the superior steamed clams (in a rich, tomato, not-to-garlicky broth), thick, sticky and addictive beer cheese, probably the best shepard’s pie in town (good ‘taters topping nice chunks o’ beef), and more than serviceable fish and chips served with parsley-imbued tartare sauce straight from the Emerald Isle.
For the record, we at ELV were over the whole “Irish pub craze” about ten years ago, but were pleasantly surprised at how remarkably well-prepared the food is here.
Our entire bill came to $67 including one “Blacksmith” (Smithwick Ale with Guinness Stout) and a $13 tip.
