If the food at Gordon Ramsay Steak is as dramatic as the interior threatens to be, Las Vegas is in for a treat.
We know that more than a few foodies and critics are lying in the weeds, waiting to take their shots at this place, but our staff is rooting for it.
Las Vegas needs Ramsay and Gordon Ramsay (the brand rather than the man) needs Las Vegas.
In a perfect world, he would be opening something more ambitious than another (groan) steakhouse, but that’s what sells to the turistas* and we gotta give ’em what they want — whether it’s has-been performers or hackneyed concepts.
His hit restaurant could reinvigorate our dining scene….or at least give it a little more star power…something our culinary culture — for better or worse — is built upon.
Getting those conventioneers into the back corner of the Paris Hotel is going to be a challenge, but if anyone can pull it off — who isn’t named Bobby Flay — we’re betting it’s Ramsay.
So go get ’em Gordon! And here’s hoping you and Las Vegas have a long and profitable future ahead of you.

* Remember ELV’s Invariable Rule of Rib Eyes: Every restaurant in Las Vegas would be a steakhouse if it could be.
Well, with a big English flags, it has to be good. I know when I think England, I think top quality steak. …
Well, as long as I don’t think about the England I’ve been to regularly for 30 years.
Good luck Ramsey, but it’s going to take more than one good review to have me decide this is the One.
Betting on Ramsey? Really? With his recent track record, that is a long shot bet, but then where better to bet against the odds than Las Vegas?
Let me guess: the “head chef” here will be…the winner of this summer’s season of “Hell’s Kitchen”. (If it opens before then, Gordon could always give the job to the woman who was supposed to get a job at one of his London restaurants before the UK government refused to give her a work visa under some new “you have to hire from within the country first” law.)
(Paris wouldn’t be the first Vegas-area hotel to have HK winners; didn’t Red Rock and Green Valley have them as well at some point?)
I will pass… If I want a crazy out of the box spot for a Steakhouse I will go to STK.
