  1. My husband and I tried the $19 prix fixe last weekend. The caprese and couscous were nice. But you must have gotten the special John Curtas treatment on the halibut and the steak — we got miniature versions of portions shown in your pictures. Our meat and fish were amuse bouche sized. Tasty, but a joke in size. Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t expecting that much for $19 total (and I’m not into huge American portions), but they shouldn’t try to pass this off as anything close to a real lunch entree.

Also, dessert was not as stated on the menu. It was fine, but beware if you have your heart set on what is actually listed. When a different dessert came, I inquired and the waiter told me that it was a set menu. I said that I understand and that I just want what’s on the menu. He said there was a printing mistake and that I couldn’t make any substitutions. Huh? I don’t want a substitution — I want what’s listed. I like Payard, but this deal was a weird and unsatisfying experience.
