MIX – A Few (but not enough) Tasty Snaps

ELV note: In keeping with the theme of Restaurant Week, we’ll be featuring meals from some of the best deals in town until it ends on March 4th. Be there or be Three Square!

Since the Food GalĀ® was messin’ with ELV’s levels on his 16.2 megapixel Sony Cyber-shot (the best point and shoot he’s ever had, if she’d just keep her mitts off it), the tasty snaps of her Restaurant Week meal turned out looking none too tasty. The ones that did turn out happened to be of our meal: winter vegetable tart ($18) , roasted venison ($44) , baba au rhum ($12), with chicken and foie gras torchon here, and a hot/cold coconut foam/passion fruit pre-dessert there, thrown in for good measure.

She was just as excited about her Colorado lamb with a spicy Mediterranean relish and an eggplant tian, and the potato gnocchi with a pumpkin flan and pumpkin sauce (pictured (badly) above). As we mentioned yesterday, we were both ecstatic about the silky, lemony, intensified cheesecake with sour cream sorbet — that disappeared before we had a chance to photograph it.

End the meal with one of this kitchen’s ethereal madeleines, and you have a dinner for two that cost well under $200 — $186 to be precise — including two glasses of wine and a $32 tip.

Was it a bargain? You betcha!

Does miX consistently put out some of the most exacting, precise French food you’ll ever find? Absolutely.

Are the prices for this food a serious deal until March 4th? Nodoubtaboutit.
