Food Courts? Yes, Food Courts.

October 07, 2011 By: John Curtas Category: Food

If you were up at the crack of dawn this morning, you saw a preternaturally perky ELV talking about his favorite food courts with Kim Wagner on Wake Up With the Wagners on KSNV (NBC) Channel 3 in Las Vegas.

Why food courts you ask? Because we’re aficionados of the genre and appreciate any amalgamation of eateries that make an effort to bring forth food (and design) that doesn’t look and taste like it was made by an accountant.

So, without further ado….here are our top 3 food courts:

1) New York New York (because the 3/4 scale Greenwich Village street scene is charming and cozy, Greenberg’s Deli makes a helluva sandwich, and Gallagher’s Steak House is right next door):

[Show as slideshow]

2) Venetian (because its five all-Italian stations cook food that’s a damn sight better than half the Eye-talian restaurants in town, and the spacing and comfortable seating makes you feel like you’re in a real restaurant):

[Show as slideshow]

3) Greenland (Korean) Supermarket Food Court (because you can get everything from decent sushi to bossam to bibimbap at criminally cheap prices for food that is tasty and ten times healthier than anything you’ll get in any other food court):

The cheeseburger and fries at the San Gennaro Grill in the Venetian Food Court is delicious. A great burger that can compete with the more fussy stuff served at upscale burger joints.
