It all started innocently enough, with us meeting a couple of food gals at Mon Ami Gabi:

….for a little al fresco lunch on Vegas’ best people watching venue:

After the kir was quaffed, the escargot gone, a (croque) monsieur massacred, frisée finished, and the pinot gris gulped, we consumed a consummate crèpe without a kvetch. All of which caused us to conclude that meal in and meal out MAG is maybe the most consistent casual restaurant in town.
From there, it was off to dinner #1 at P. J. Clarke’s — donated by the restaurant for a Saint Rose Dominican charity dinner (bravo P. J. Clarke’s) — with Natasha, Tony and Jill (winners of the dinner) slurping their way through some mighty great gastro-pub grub:

Combined with a couple of pre-prandial cocktails from the bar at Comme Ça, you would think this enough to satisfy any gourmand after eight straight hours of eating and drinking. You would think that of course, and you would be wrong.
Because after dinner #1 concluded, we bounded (well, more like waddled) through the Forum Shops, wound our way through Caesars, and ended up at Restaurant Guy Savoy for a little lagniappe…a disgetivo if you will:

…consisting of some John Dory, seared Australian wagyu, then some beautiful slices of nutty Comté followed by a wedge of piquant Roquefort followed by some VEP Chartreuse (by this time another necessary digestivo), followed by dessert after dessert from Savoy’s justifiably famous pastry and sweet cart…culminating with about six, tiny, hazelnut Paris-Brest bites that Franck Savoy had to fight us for.
Too much you say?
Nope, just another day at the office for ELV.

What’s “gastro-pub” about PJs? Isn’t it just plain old (well done) Pub Grub? This aint no Heston Blumenthal stuff.
A few girlfriends and I had tickets to see Hell’s Kitchen today but we didn’t get in. So, out of lemons, we made lemonade. Well, sangria. We went here for what we now call, Hookie Club. Play Hookie from work (or kids) and have some drinks and a light meal. Kinda catchy, huh? We like it anyway.
