We lead off with the cookies in the above photo spread, because we’ve been meaning to mention them for years. In ELV’s mind, sometimes nothing, nothing tastes better than a fresh baked cookie.

Or twelve of them, following a kick-ass Cuban sandwich (that beats Mesa Grill’s all to hell and back) made with Spago’s house-cured pork “pastrami,” pickles and jalapenos

FYI: the peach shortcake tweren’t no slouch either….but we have trouble getting the memory of those just-warm chocolate, chocolate chip, sugar, oatmeal cookies out of our mind. Not to mention the coconut macaroons and the shortbread.

All that was missing was a glass of milk. ELV, as is his wont, was busy polishing off a bottle of Montelpulciano, and didn’t think to order some.

Which leads him to question: Does Spago even serve milk?

Like, in a glass, to customers?

Has anyone ever ordered a glass of milk at Spago?

After all, it’s not on the menu.

Would they laugh and scoff at ELV if he dared to do so?

Because these cookies are so good, and so much like mother used to make, we’ll find out these answers soon enough.
