Travel and Leisure quotes ELV

“Guru” is Sanskrit for a person who, having great knowledge , wisdom and authority in a certain area, uses it to guide others.

Just when we had swallowed a big dose of humility (see previous post), along comes Travel and Leisure Magazine to pronounce yours truly the “…local (Las Vegas) food guru….” in a short article highlighting Restaurant Charlie, Kerry Simon’s new babe-a-licious emporium* in the new Palms Tower, and the premium beef burger competition around town.

Hummm….Guru? Yeah, that fits.

It has now dawned on ELV (and the staff at ELV) that false modesty is as unbecoming to us as a soup-stained necktie. We shan’t make this mistake again. It would be undignified.

* A babe-a-licious emporium (aka a babeliem) is any restaurant where the food takes a back seat to the eye-candy….in ELV’s case: eye-candy of the mega-babe, female persuasion (c.f. Tao, Nine, Cathouse, Ago, Dos Caminos, et al).
