ELV note: In keeping with our efforts to keep this website as tasty as ever, the staff at Eating Las Vegas has decided to try something new in the restaurant reviewing biz, to wit – having two critics analyze the same meal from their disparate viewpoints, the better to have you devour and delectate  their various disseminations. Given his seniority, Mr. Curtas shall be the first to weigh in, followed by young Wilburn, with whom he shared a memorable repast in the past week.

This Just In: VALENTINO Leaving Venetian

Eating Las Vegas has learned that, after 13 years and numerous accolades, Piero Selvaggio’s Valentino will be departing the Venetian Hotel and Casino in June.

Both sides describe the parting as amicable, and we have it on good authority that Selvaggio is actively seeking another home for an authentic trattoria concept in Las Vegas.

The Venetian remains mum on whatever concept will be replacing this pasta, wine and northern Italian palace, but our sources, who may or may not be reliable, have given us  information, which may or may not be true, that a famous French chef, who may or may not be named Daniel Boulud, will be taking over the space later this year.

Russell Gardner Has Got His Cicerone Goin’ On

From the statement facial hair to his official cicerone certification, Public House‘s Russell Gardner announces he is the man to see when you’re brooding over what brew to order. He’s now featuring 24 taps and dozens of labels of sudsy esoterica that he will gladly sip and share with you — explaining (both in person and on the menu) how cans (yes, cans) are the preferred vessel for beers and ales not in the keg.
