PEPPERMILL COFFEE SHOP AND FIRESIDE (aka Flaming Firepool) LOUNGE

It was our Dad’s favorite restaurant. He used to order the Fruit Ambrosia platter (inexplicably listed under “Drinks” on the menu), and revel in its size, whilst ELV (in his younger, thinner, surlier days) would fume over being forced to eat there. What he got was a bunch of fruit (some ripe, some not-so) and a big scoop or two of cottage cheese. For this they get $7.50 and a lot of ohhs and ahhs over the size of the damn thing.

LE CIRQUE – A Couple Of Birthdays

Le Cirque Las Vegas celebrated its tenth birthday late last year, and ELV celebrated a birthday (his come with alarming frequency these days), last week.

So in honor of both, we decided to partake of Chef David Werley’s superior French cuisine, in what remains one of the prettiest, most romantic and intimate dining rooms in all of Las Vegas.

This Just In….Next To Vegas, New York City Is A Bargain!

ELV has maintained for years that Vegas is the most expensive restaurant city in America.

Further proof (as if any is needed):

A three-course lunch at Cafe Boulud in New York City (one of ELV’s favorite restaurants in the world), now runs $24 — or roughly the price of an appetizer at most Wynn restaurants.
