Eating Albuquerque – in The Virtual Gourmet

Albuquerque, New Mexico probably is not the first town that leaps to mind when you savor thoughts of fabulous, indigenous, American cuisine, but it should be. Throughout this capital of Native American-Mexican-Spanish-American cultures is enough interesting and tasty grub to keep your palate interested and over-heated for weeks. And from a recent visit (my second in a year), I can confidently pronounce the food every bit as tasty as that in Santa Fe, an hour to the north, and much less expensive.

“Guru” is Sanskrit for a person who, having great knowledge , wisdom and authority in a certain area, uses it to guide others.

Just when we had swallowed a big dose of humility (see previous post), along comes Travel and Leisure Magazine to pronounce yours truly the “…local (Las Vegas) food guru….” in a short article highlighting Restaurant Charlie, Kerry Simon’s new babe-a-licious emporium* in the new Palms Tower, and the premium beef burger competition around town.

Fabulous Food Fotos

As much as ELV would love to have you believe he is the be all and end all in all things culinary, occasionally he is forced to recognize excellence far beyond his mortal skills.

Just such superiority in food photography hit ELV like an udon noodle in the face when he gazed upon the amazing pictures on this website.

As for the blogger/photographer’s food knowledge…well, as you’ll read, the guy simply doesn’t know what he’s talking about…
