Yes, sports fans….we finally found a restaurant (and food) that KLAS anchor Dave McCann likes:
…although they stop the video before we can watch the big guy take a bite.
And even though we didn’t have time on the air to mention BLT Burger’s chili, Hugh Alexander Curtas (The Official Number Two Son of ELV), tells us the chefs took our former criticism to heart, and now it’s better than ever.
Let’s try a little experiment, shall we?
All of you who have been defending IBO Turkish & Mediterranean Restaurant & Lounge (Whew!) in the comments section (and boy have there been a lot of you on both sides of the IBO fence), would you please hightail it over to Khoury’s on Ft. Apache, eat a meal or two there, and then tell us which one seems to making the more intense, interesting, well-spiced and well-cooked Mediterranean food.
It’s no contest.

It was our Dad’s favorite restaurant. He used to order the Fruit Ambrosia platter (inexplicably listed under “Drinks” on the menu), and revel in its size, whilst ELV (in his younger, thinner, surlier days) would fume over being forced to eat there. What he got was a bunch of fruit (some ripe, some not-so) and a big scoop or two of cottage cheese. For this they get $7.50 and a lot of ohhs and ahhs over the size of the damn thing.
