Since ELV seems destined never to pay for a bite of food at Old Homestead, he approaches this “review” of it with caution, as should you.

This is hardly something new around the ELV offices, as our non-anonymity is now ubiquitous (we even get busted in Chinatown these days). So it is among other critics (in Vegas and elsewhere) as well, but it still gives us pause before we launch into telling you what we really think of a place, since it’s obvious to both of us that the experience we’re writing about will not exactly be yours.

Ozersky Eats CARNEVINO

Before any of you start in on us, let it be known that ELV took “Mr. Cutlets” to Carnevino solely as an intellectual piece of palatable performance art. A preemptive form of protein oneupsmanship if you please, done solely to resurrect this meat program to its proper place of porterhouse prominence in his perception.

Ozersky Eats Vegas

The Old Homestead is set to open for customers tomorrow night in Caesars Palace, and has been doing the friends and family thing for a couple of days now.

And when there’s meat around, you can be sure Josh “The Maharaja of Meat” Ozersky will be nearby, testing the grinds, calibrating the cuts, assessing the seasonings and parsing the proteins for presumed perfection.
