Eating Las Vegas isn’t too sure about José Andres’ Chinese/Mexican concept opening soon in the Cosmo, but is looking forward to a branch of Jaleo (if only to see if an absentee chef can bring the thunder like a stay-at-home one).

We at ELV have never claimed to be proficient professional prognosticators. We have have no idea how big a success City Center will be (if at all), and make no claims of a track record when it comes to predicting who will succeed or fail in the restaurant biz in our humble burg.
Attending a sherry tasting/seminar with wine and spirits guru Steve Olson, and virtually every Master Sommelier in town, can be an intimidating experience. But such is the respect that ELV has for (fellow Iron Chef America judge) Olson, that he forgot how little he knows about this fortified wine, and plopped himself down at a seat for a special luncheon at RM Seafood, to hear Olson expound upon the joys and complexities of this underrated product of Southern Spain.
