Arianna and Kerry kicked off Restaurant Week 2011 last night with a press event at Simon’s KGB Burgers at Harrah’s. The fun continues today with a shuck and swallow (oysters, not your pride) contest today at 3:00 at First Food and Bar. (public invited)

Scores of Las Vegas’ best restaurants participate, putting out fixed menus at insanely cheap prices, allowing locals and tourists to taste the best of Vegas while benefiting a good cause – Three Square of Southern Nevada.

Restaurant Week this year is actually two weeks, and runs until September 11th. Eating Las Vegas considers it the ideal time for fussy foodies to visit old friends, and for infrequent feast-ers to finalize their fasts by fabulously focusing and foraging on this flourishing floodgate of fruitful fodder. Our staff recommends foisting yourself on these store fronts frequently over the next two weeks — and have yourselves a frenetic phenomenal fricassee of fun — all for the low, low prices of meals ranging from $20.11, $30.11, and $50.11.

For pure, eye-popping value, it’ll be tough to beat the dinners at miX, Milos, Bar Masa, Blue Ribbon, Aureole, or RM Seafood, or the lunches at Eiffel Tower Restaurant, BOA Steakhouse, Morel’s or Simon.

Notable absences this year year include L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon and Craftsteak — both of which were wildly popular in years past.

Regardless, there are tasty eats a-plenty available for the next twelve days and nights, at tariffs that give you no excuse for not trying some of the best food on the planet.
