KLAS TV (CBS) Channel 8 – Dishing and Dining – BARTOLOTTA RISTORANTE DI MARE

We’re long overdue to feature Paul Bartolotta’s as-fresh-as-it-can-be Italian seafood on KLAS TV’s Restaurant of the Week. Now that the segment has officially been re-named: Dishing and Dining, we thought we’d kick it off by featuring this Italian master and his craft.

Now that you’ve seen ELV espouse the virtues of this magnificent restaurant, go here to hear him praise its pisciform productions in the sonorous tones for which he is known.

FYI: Alan Richman loves to tell people the best (and most affordable) way to experience Paul B’s food is to go here an not order the whole fish. As tempting as that may be, unless you’re celebrating your inheritance (or someone else is picking up the tab), stick with the pastas and a la carte items and you’ll have an incredible meal for less than a house payment.

Best Food Week Ever – Parts Four And Five Preview

Tonight (in less than three hours) begins Part Four of ELV’s Best Food Week Ever. As part of the James Beard Foundation’s Taste America Event, ELV will be hosting a dinner at Fiamma at the MGM Grand (with an amazing meal + wines being offered by Carlos Buscaglia and Fabio Trabocci at the not-exactly-bargain-priced-but-all-for-a-worthy-cause cost of $350/per). As wonderful as the food (and the privately selected wine) is sure to be, you won’t want to miss ELV’s sparkling commentary on same — delivered with the twinkle-in-his-eye irony and rakish charm for which he is known.

Iron Chef America – Battle Sturgeon – Viewing Party at Marche Bacchus

In the spirit of egotism, egoism, solipsism, vanity, pride, hubris, self-promotion and self-aggrandizement for which he is known, ELV hereby publicizes these snaps taken at last week’s ICA Viewing Party at Marche Bacchus. A good time was had by all as Emcee Robin (Lifestyles) Leach led the proceedings and NORM! (The Vegas Eye) Clarke took copious notes of everyone’s behavior (not really). Merci Beaucoup to Rhonda and Jeff Wyatt for hosting the event, and for the sturgeon stylings(?) of Chef Jean-David Groff Daudet.

Those four courses of sturgeon presented by Groff-Daudet were pretty much his swan song at the restaurant, as ELV has been informed he will be departing soon for another gig.

Bonne chance a notre ami Jean-David…and we can’t wait to taste what his successor: Jean-Paul Labadie will be whipping up at our favorite wine bar/wine store/restaurant.

FYI: The episode will be repeated tonight on Food Network.
