ELV had lunch at Chicago Joe’s last Friday. It was probably the twentieth time we’ve eaten there in the last 18 years. It was as awful as ever.

Is it just me or does Steve Wynn’s head seem to be growing to Mt. Rushmore-size proportions? I’m not talking about his ego – something that’s always had trouble fitting in the Grand Canyon – but the size of his Yosemite Sam-sized noggin.

Mr. Moonen launches a book
Or rather, we should say that Rick Moonen (along with co-author Roy Finamore) has written and published the seafood cookbook for home cooks in America. As Rick is fond of saying, just ten years ago (even less), the number of practical cookbooks for fish and shellfish cooking was practically non-existent.
In the past, well-known chef’s and famous restaurant’s fish cookbooks were about as practical for the home cook as a duck press.
