In honor of Aureole and the outstanding job they did during Restaurant Week, we at ELV thought we’d post a few tasty snaps of the boffo $30.11 and $50.11 meals they served to over a thousand diners. That’s over a hundred RW meals a night served, at a big Strip hotel, to benefit Three Square.
Farmers markets keep getting bigger and better throughout our humble burg, and this Saturday, Fresh 52 is bringing forth a replenished plethora of plenty, an abundance of alimentary allure, if you will, by adding some mighty fine producers of fresh produce to its already strong lineup. (ELV is beginning to view the various markets as competing sports teams, each bidding for the best talent.)
The good news is everyone benefits from this vegetable escalation, and Las Vegans can now eat fresher than ever — certainly much better than we did a few years ago, when the term “farmers market” was more synonymous with caramel corn and crafts than with any consistent, concupiscent cornucopia. Eating Las Vegas knows not what derring-do Urbani Truffles (and local truffle queen Leigh Greenfield) goes through to sneak the very first white truffles of the season all the way from Italy to Restaurant Guy Savoy, but get them there they did last week, making it the first restaurant in America to get a taste of this season’s crop.
