It happens every time. As soon as I started live-posting on Facebook and Instagram about a meal I’m having at Julian Serrano, the comments start pouring in:
“Overrated.”
“Phoning it in.”
“Wanted to like it but didn’t.”
“Not a fan.”
These opinions come fast and furious from a fount of foodie friends every time I mention I’m dining there.

Face it: Valentine’s Day sucks. It’s the ultimate ginned-up, fake celebration foisted upon American males solely to benefit greeting card companies, cheap chocolate manufacturers and florists. And women. Boy do the gals looooove Valentine’s Day. For men it’s a duty, for women it’s like Christmas, with sex.
Things have been fairly slow around the ELV manse of late, what with us putting the finishing touches on the EATING LAS VEGAS book, and having cut back on our restaurant schedule because of it.
Accordingly, we thought a quick tour of where we have eaten recently is in order, in order to point out some of the tastier bites we’ve encountered at some old friends and new acquaintances.
