Eating Las Vegas® can only spend so much time crying over spilled milk (in this case, the closing of Rosemary’s), so in honor of FORTE’s being featured on KLAS TV’s Dishing & Dining with Denise Valdez tomorrow, we at ELV thought we’d post a few more of our tasty snaps of another meal there….including those of a couple of wayward chefs who happened upon us one night as we were polishing off some Bulgarian beer and some patatas bravas…

No shaky leg, an overuse of the word “really” (really(?)), and equating bai top (whelk) with escargot (??) highlight (lowlight) today’s appearance* on Channel 8 with the always lovely Denise Valdez.

* Since we’re now doing these live on the noon news, when mistakes are made, it’s damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead! – with nary a moment to spare in the two minutes allotted.

Best Burgers on KLAS TV (CBS) Channel 8’s Dishing and Dining

Burgers must be in the air, ‘cuz even Slapsie Maxie wrote about them this week in that rag he works for.

It’s really hard to call any of these the best, but let’s just say they’re darn good, and at $6 and $9.30 respectively, the ones at Smashburger and P. J. Clarke’s put any and all fast food ground meat patties (save, maybe In-N-Out) to shame:

If we have an objection to any of these, it isn’t to the burgers themselves, but the fact that official pictures of them sent to the station always feature the super-sized, mega-mogambo-extreme-topping burger – rather than a classic plain or cheeseburger that really let’s you appreciate the quality of the beef, the seasonings and the cooking.

Damn juicy, over-the-top burgers!

BOUCHON’S Boffo Brunch on KLAS TV (CBS) Channel 8’s Dishing and Dining

ELV couldn’t believe that, after five years in town, Denise Valdez had never been to Bouchon.

So in we traipsed a couple of Sundays ago f0r a light brunch…and ended up getting the whole enchilada…including a 16 oz. porterhouse steak, because super-Executive-Sous Chef Bruno Morabito (the man responsible for putting Bouchon’s best-selling chicken and waffles on the menu) remembered the last time we were in, when ELV (or perhaps it was our staff) joked that he’d eaten everything on the menu except the steak. So there it came, gratis, after the aforementioned waffles and pastries and croque Madame and yogurt and salmon and charcuterie…

…and as you can see from the video and these tasty snaps, all of it was drop-your-fork-delicious.
