Can melted cheese on beef get any better?
We don’t think so.
Can toasted bread get any toastier?
Smoked cream cheese any creamier? Pepperjack any peppier?
In other words, does a patty melt come any comelier?
The Patty is so good, in fact, that we have to force ourselves to order anything else when we’re at The Goodwich.
Maybe it’s how the loosely formed patty allows the cheese to seep into the meat. Maybe it’s because of the way the melted onions melt into the proteins. Maybe it’s due to all of those ingredients being handled with care that causes the whole to be so much greater than the sum of its parts.
We at ELV think it’s all of these things. We also think it might be the best damn sandwich in a downtown full of great damn sandwiches.
