  1. Just ordered it. Can’t wait to check it out! You guys have come up with a fantastic concept for a dining guide. I love the different perspectives. Still surprised this hasn’t caught on elsewhere. Keep up the good work!

  2. The Eating Las Vegas book is a treasure to touristos such as myself. A lot of work and thought went into it. But I think one of the weaknesses of the format is the lack of anonymity by the reviewers. They are going to get well-treated at most of these joints.

My own top 50 notes: I was in Nove Italiano recently, just after reading the book, and found the meal to be very poor by comparison to my previous repasts there, as well as in comparison to the lauds given by all three reviewers in ELV 2013. Of course, I was eating by myself, and I came in after 9pm on a Thursday, so that may have had something to do with it. This place has also obviously been tremendously harmed by the closing of the Playboy Club immediately above (previously the two were connected by an esclator).

As for Monta, their ramen was fairly good (recently had MUCH better at Richard Sandoval’s Zengo in Washington DC), but the ELV2013 recommended Gyoza dumplings were almost inedible. It seemed as if they were unfrozen and glommed together.
