Olympic-Class Eats at Mandarin Oriental

[nggallery id=1784]

One of the great things about being ELV, besides the groupies, the drugs and the limos, is how we constantly get to experience the finer things in life.

Like the cabanas at the Mandarin Oriental. Which are mighty fine indeed, but hardly priced that way.

In fact, during the week, they go for $250/day, which is a pittance compared to other pleasure pits.

Maybe that’s because your sight lines are not constantly assaulted by douchebags whilst you swim and tan the day awy, or maybe it’s because they’re just about the best kept secret in poolside lounging around.

So swimmers and tanners rejoice! And know that while you’re accentuating your melanin enhancement, there’s a killer Olympic menu being offered at the Pool Cafe, featuring a gorgeous fish and chips, bangers and serious mash, and a fresh green pea, pea shoot and Stilton salad that might be the best salad we’ve had in years.

Top it all off with a whiskey bread and butter pudding with Guinness stout and Boddington’s beer ice cream and you’ll feel like you’re in London…or at least in the spirit of things.

The menu is only being offered through August 12th, but that salad is so good (and has proved so popular) they may be keeping it on the Cafe’s menu permanently.

We hope they do the same with the bread pudding. Skinny Olympians may not be able to appreciate it, but world-class couch potatoes like ELV consider such things fuel for his athletic enthusiasms!

The menu is offered from 11:30 am to 6 pm daily.

Just thought you’d like to know.

  1. John, the 2012 edition of “Eating Las Vegas” was a great resource in planning my recent trip.
