Shhhh…here’s a secret: Obscure soda pops are ELV’s private passion — right up there with Niner’s football, Hedy Lamarr in her prime, and his all-consuming fears of  Hexakosioihexekontahexaphobia, and Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia,

So, you can imagine his excitement upon strolling into the newest incarnation of Rocket Fizz — located a stone’s throw from the box office at the Regal Village Square Theaters on West Sahara.

If there’s a fizzier and fun-ner place to hang out before or after a movie, ELV hasn’t found it, and lovers of Moxie Soda, Mexican Coke and English candy bars (made with much better chocolate than the shite they coat American vending machine bars with), will be in sucrose/fructose/glucose heaven. If only they had Blenheim Ginger Ale, the store would be perfect.

Sure, it’s a chain, but who cares when Moxie is being sold? One look at the new store — only open for a couple of months — caused ELV to effervesce almost as much as he used to do as an adolescent, staring at this on his wall.

  1. No Blenheims? The last time I was in their Trop. store [about a year ago] they carried it then.

  2. I was a happy Rocket Fizz customer at the prior location on South Fort Apache until they stopped selling Blenheim Ginger Ale (I always opted for the hot with the pink top). Months ago I went in and was told they no longer stocked Blenheim. A sad day indeed!
