When Critics Attack….each other…and…BRIO!

ELV note: Scroll to the 16:13 mark to watch ELV’s meltdown over the perplexing popularity of (yet another) vapid, franchised Italian restaurant, and please bear with our scratchy voice that keeps threatening to heal, but which has plagued us for the past two weeks.

And while we’re at it, we’d love for someone to explain to us why Brio is turning away customers every night…

  1. A friend of mine in from L.A. and staying at Mandalay wanted to have dinner at Brio Town Square, because she had lunch there the last time she was here. My friends, allergic to garlic, onions, tomatoes, etc….etc…., always want plain food, preferably plain salmon. She asked them to slightly undercook it; I don’t know whether they did or not, but it was perfect! I have never tasted better salmon–anywhere I didn’t ask where it was from; my other allergic friend won’t eat anything but northwest wild Pacific salmon. Personally, I’m always on the hunt for a good diner…but my friends won’t go within sniffing distance of them, so I end up eating a lot of salmon. I loved the Batali farmers’ market when it was on Dean Martin, not excessively far from Anthem, but now it’s way too far–so sad for me.
