Just wondering why the tip for breakfast was 30% at $15. Is that kind of tip expected in Vegas?

I used to think that 15-20% of the food bill (plus 5-10% on the wine bill depending on the wine) would be a very good tip already. Maybe I am out of date.

Thanks.

Hehe. My own hometown peeps envy us, and they're now begging for a Bouchon to call their own. I laugh. Who knew there'd be a day when those pesky Californians became jealous of us! :-p

Bouchon is my favorite place for breakfast---I love the ambiance, the service and I have never had a bad meal---in fact, I had the best eggs benedict (and I try them nearly every place that serves them) ever there.

Been to Per Se yet? It's my understanding that that place has warmer, friendlier feel and service than French Laundry and any of the Bouchon's. The chicken and waffles is stupid good for brunch at Bouchon.

I've only dined at Keller's French Laundry once a number of years ago but the aloof treatment, "we are so above you" that we received made us not want to experience it again. Reading about him in Ruhlman's book only reinforced the idea. That being said, I did find the article in the New York Times on October 28 showed another side of him.
With your comments we will put his Las Vegas place on our list to try next visit.

You are right. I sometimes take way too much artistic license trying to be funny at other's expense - including yours.

It's notes like these that remind me that the web is about people, not just a nameless, faceless medium.

Properly chastised, I shall make amends.

Sincerely,

ELV
