How was Joho the “driving force” in bringing Mon Ami Gabi to town? Rich Melman brought them both to town and Joho was not involved with Gabino’s MAG. Joho didn’t bring Gabino to Vegas any more than Gabino brought Joho.

You are still inaccurate, as usual.

Otherwise, I’m glad to see that the food at ETR is improving. I’ll also try to try it again some time with an open mind. Oh, and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Mon Ami Gabi! It’s so fabulous to do dinner there with The Bellagio’s fountains roaring and The Strip shimmering in all its glory, and I’d love a chance to try weekend brunch there some time.

Steve is right as things are today. However, the name “Mon Ami Gabi” refers to Gabino Sotelino, Jean Joho’s friend who he (supposedly) brought to Vegas to open and run the bistro (or so the press was informed at the time).

Back in 1999, Joho was highly touted as being part of the operation. We have corrected the sentence to more accurately reflect the nature of Joho’s involvement.

For the record, Joho is not the force behind Mon Ami Gabi. Nor does he have anything to do with the restaurant. Chef Gabino Sotelino is the namesake/patriarch of Mon Ami.

Hey now, that doesn’t look like the “Halibut en Papillotte” that I would expect to see in a restaurant billed as “fine French dining.”

It looks like a bunch of stuff swimming in a Reynolds cooking bag drawn together with the cheap metal twist tie that comes in the box! I almost thought I saw two goldfish in there. Very unsophisticated.
