I have to disagree with your review. When my husband and I visited in July 2009 we had a marvelous meal. My salad was perfection (and I like a GOOD salad, no iceberg for this woman) My husband had the duck and I had the seabass, both were delicious. We were treated wonderfully by the manager, host, bartender and staff.

I would have rated them higher than that but your right that it is overpriced for what you get.

I suggest instead of trashing a restaurant, you do your job first. Someone who goes to professionaly review a restaurant drunk should be dismissed for publishing an impaired appraisal. It certainly appeared to me the wine steward was doing his due diligence by not serving you more alcohol and I applaud him for doing so. By protecting you from self injury or injurying others on your travels, you choose to go out of your way to carry out a vendetta by attempting to tarnish his reputation. By tearing down Freemont street as a "godforsaken place" where it is incedibly hard to find good food leads me to think you had already made up your mind before getting to Hugos.

I do not work there nor have I ever been there. Your review is worthless so will have to see for myself.

ELV, really? Forced to dine alone? By yourself? Downtown? "Alone, but yet alive!"

When's the last time you tried Binion's, and reported back to us?

Or have you ever thought of cooking your own dinner once in a while?

Hugo's has great ambiance. That's why you go there. The food is decent, the red rose thing is sweet. But their Kona Coffee Experience makes the mediocrity well worth it.

Hmmm, this seems counter to the buzz I often hear about this place. But then again, I've heard buzz for quite a while on certain "celebrity chef spectacles" on The Strip that have turned out to be overpriced duds. Who knows, maybe Hugo's doesn't really live up to its hype?

I guess I should now consider myself warned if I'm ever lucky enough to have a boyfriend treat me to dinner here. ;-)

I never really expected too much from that place when hearing about it, despite hearing from fans.. But man, that looks very unappealing. I could pay less for a casual place on the Strip and have everything better presented and have it taste better.
