To just show an ingredient to a chef and say: "make five dishes in an hour" would be impossible and ludicrous. You're right....if people out there think that everything is dreamed up and executed in 60 minutes, immediately after they see the secret ingredient, then yes, they're being misled. Imagine the atrocities that would be "invented" and served if they really did have only an hour..... But it’s no secret that they get some time to plan a menu(s) for possible use on the show. Their kitchens in the stadium are then stocked full of the items needed to prepare one of those menus. So they are not really thinking on their feet as the Chairman would like you to believe...
